Scotland can be a pain to get to but for those willing to make the journey to this fantastic shoot just over the border it will be well worth the travel (postcode TD3 6NW). If you fancy a shooting trip away this year but don’t want to be stung with hidden expensive hotel and restaurant bills this could be perfect for you and your team. You can even bring partners at no extra cost to the accommodation.
The only thing that isn’t included is your tips and drinks, both of which we ask the teams to bring. COST IS £765 A GUN BASED ON 8 GUNS WITH AN EXPECTED BAG OF AROUND 120 OVER THE TWO DAYS. VAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS PRICE. WE USUALY SHOOT BETWEEN 50-60 EACH DAY.
Shooting
Walked up/mini driven shooting. The bag will vary in both species and number, depending on how well the team shoots, the weather conditions and the migration of woodcock but we anticipate a bag of around 120.
It is the perfect place to shoot a variety of different species, including pheasant, partridge, grouse, mallard, teal, snipe and there are usually a few chances to shoot woodcock throughout the day. If variety is what you are after these days should be perfect for you. A picture of a typical bag is attached to give you a bit of an idea of what to expect.
The Full Border Game Bag challenge
If you are going to come all this way we like to make things interesting and give our teams a bit of a challenge. A bottle of Jura whisky will be awarded to any team able to bag all 10 species on the list, which include, partridge, pheasant, grouse, woodcock, snipe, teal, mallard, hare and of course the humble rabbit and pigeon.
Dogs
Please note that this is not your standard driven pheasant day, these are wild birds and badly behaved dogs have the potential to ruin a day’s shooting if they are constantly running ahead. Well trained dogs are welcome, but there will be plenty of experienced dogs on hand to help flush and retrieve the birds.
Accommodation and food
Accommodation will be in the dog friendly cottages next to the shoot in the old Cottage and Hayloft, where breakfast and a two course evening meal will be provided on both days. For those of you struggling to get away from the family for a few days we are able to accommodate a few non shooting guests with no extra charge for accommodation.
Coronavirus
We appreciate these are uncertain times and we do have a policy in place should the shooting trip have to be canceled to ensure you and your team are not left out of pocket.
Dates
We have two shooting trips available in October.
Arrive 28th, shoot 29th and 30th depart on the 31st.

Because we are relying on wild birds we only organise these kinds of trips between 4 and 6 times a year so as not to overshoot the ground. In addition the reason the days are so competitively priced is due to the great deal we have been able to get with the accommodation but the deal with the cottages will not be available for long.
